Elton John with Marc Bolan of T. Rex
Well, you're dirty and sweet
Clad in black, don't look back and I love you
You're dirty and sweet, oh yeah
Well, you're slim and weak
You've got the teeth of the hydra upon you
You're dirty sweet and you're my girl
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Well, you're built like a car
You've got a hub cap diamond star halo
You're built like a car, oh yeah
Well, you're an untamed youth
That's the truth, with your cloak full of eagles
You're dirty sweet and you're my girl
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Well, you're windy and wild
You've got the blues in your shoes and your stockings
You're windy and wild, oh yeah
Well, you're built like a car
You've got a hub cap diamond star halo
You're dirty sweet and you're my girl
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Well, you're dirty and sweet
Clad in black, don't look back and I love you
You're dirty and sweet, oh yeah
Well, you dance when you walk
So let's dance, take a chance, understand me
You're dirty sweet and you're my girl
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on
Take me
For a meanwhile, I'm still thinking...
Let’s get one thing out of the way right now. LONGLEGS is not a SILENCE OF THE LAMBS clone. There are references to other films (Seven for example, Rosemary’s Baby) but this FBI agent is not Jodie Foster. Can’t we have more than one female FBI agent type in a horror film? In a fair world, yeah I know, nobody said this world is fair, Maika Monroe would be nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of an awkward and haunted FBI agent in search of Nicolas Cage, who also deserves a Academy Award nomination.
Cage lays to rest the trolls who claim he’s done all he can do in acting. LONGLEGS shows we’ve only just scratched the surface of his ability. This film isn’t just a horror movie, this film is genuinely, well, evil. Dangerous and dark. This atmosphere owes much to cinematographer Andres Arochi whose work I first saw in an EDM video which shows how he can create mystery and a cult like feeling:
The editing by Graham Fortin and Greg Ng, the writer/ director Oz Perkins- all worthy of nominations. I predict this is a movie that after you see it, will stay in your thoughts for days after- when you drag your friends to see it. This is a big screen film for full effect. Now, T. Rex.
Talk about mystical songs!
You gonna look fine
Be primed for dancing
You're gonna trip and glide
All on the trembling plane
Your diamond hands
Will be stacked with roses
And wind and cars
And people of the past
I'll call you thing
Just when the moon sings
And place your face in stone
Upon the hill of stars
And gripped in the arms
Of the changeless madman
We'll dance our lives away
In the Ballrooms of Mars
You talk about day
I'm talking 'bout night time
When the monsters call out
The names of men
Bob Dylan knows
And I bet Alan Freed did
There are things in night
That are better not to behold
You dance
With your lizard leather boots on
And pull the strings
That change the faces of men
You diamond browed hag
You're a gutter-gaunt gangster
John Lennon knows your name
And I've seen his
You talk about day
I'm talking 'bout night time
When the monsters call out
The names of men
Bob Dylan knows
And I bet Alan Freed did
There are things in night
That are better not to behold
You dance
With your lizard leather boots on
And pull the strings
That change the faces of men
You diamond browed hag
You're a glitter-gaunt gangster
John Lennon knows your name
And I've seen his
What a perfect artist to pick for LONGLEGS.
Here is what Wikipedia says about T. Rex:
T. Rex (originally Tyrannosaurus Rex) were an English rock band, formed in 1967 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan, who was their leader, frontman and only consistent member. Though initially associated with the psychedelic folk genre, Bolan began to change the band's style towards electric rock in 1969, and shortened their name to T. Rex the following year. This development culminated in 1970 with their first hit single "Ride a White Swan", and the group soon became pioneers of the glam rock movement.
From 1970 to 1973, T. Rex were extremely popular in the UK, with a run of eleven top ten singles, four of which reached number one: "Hot Love", "Get It On", "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru". The band's 1971 album Electric Warrior received critical acclaim, reached number 1 in the UK and became a landmark album in glam rock. The 1972 follow-up, The Slider, entered the top 20 in the US. Bolstering their style with soul music, funk and gospel, the band released Tanx in 1973 which reached the top 5 in several countries. From 1974, T. Rex's appeal began to wane, though the band continued releasing albums. Their subsequent releases blended rock with R&B and occasionally even disco.
In 1977, sole songwriter and constant member Bolan died in a car crash several months after the release of the group's final studio album Dandy in the Underworld, and the group disbanded. T. Rex have continued to influence a variety of subsequent artists. The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
Produced, directed and sometimes filmed by Ringo Starr, this is mainly a concert film of T Rex. However, it also includes a comedy sketch with Ringo and Marc Bolan, Live Studio Performances of "Tutti Frutti" and "Children of The Revolution" (with T Rex, Ringo & Elton John), as well as a "Mad Hatters Tea Party" scene.
Marc Bolan had a TV show as well, and often looked for music from new artists or people just breaking out. The Jam, David Bowie, Generation X with Billy Idol.

The Chicago Psychotronic Film Society which begat The Global Psychotronic Film Society is quite a party. From it's earliest days with guests JOHN CLEESE, ROBERT DeNIRO, BILL MURRAY (our first dues paid member), DAN AYKROYD, SYDNEY POLLACK, RUSS MEYER, CLIVE BARKER, JOHN DUGAN, PENN AND TELLER, KENNETH ANGER, DARIO ARGENTO and many more there was nothing like it on earth. People travelled from all over the world to attend our parties or host them and none of the celebrities were paid to be at the events.
We did shows at bars and clubs LIMELIGHT, KABOOM, THE LYRIC OPERA (!), THE BIOGRAPH THEATER, THE LIAR'S CLUB and many more places. This meant you had to be 21 to attend and there were no dealer tables.
We were the only fandom that had an equal number of women in the group at a time when women avoided fandom! Join us on Facebook here: The party starts now
